I’m always a little late to the dance. I’m the one looking for winter clothes when the stores are putting out summer clothes, so I’m late in jumping on the bible journaling bandwagon. I immediately loved the idea of combining my faith with my love of art. I must say that I was initially a little timid about adding art in my bible. Creating Stencils for mixed media art, abstract paintings, scrapbooks and journaling is as easy as pulling out your glue gun!  I know a lot of my fellow artists and crafters spend money for stencils.  There are so many beautiful stencils on the market and I even own a few, but making your own stencils is not only cost effective, but fun.  What I like about making my own stencils is that each and every one is unique.

Are you one of those people who just can’t throw away a great container?  I am!  Coffee containers, oatmeal boxes, margerine containers, I can always find a use for them, especially in my art/sewing room.  Just because they can be useful, doesn’t mean we can’t pretty them up a bit.

Thought I might share with you what I’ve been up to lately. I am still fairly new to painting watercolors, so I frequently watch Youtube videos to learn techniques. This little watercolor tulips painting is one that I painted after watching a video from one of my favorite watercolor artists, Andrew Geeson. I changed mine up just a bit and broke the rule of 3 by adding a 4th tulip. 🙁
